TUESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY...
WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 2 AM EST TUESDAY.

* LOCATION...PLYMOUTH COUNTY COAST FROM HULL TO PLYMOUTH. NORTH
  AND EAST FACING SHORELINES OF CAPE COD. NORTH AND EAST COASTS OF
  NANTUCKET INCLUDING NANTUCKET HARBOR.

* COASTAL FLOODING...AREAS OF MINOR COASTAL FLOODING ARE LIKELY
  AROUND THE TIME OF THE EVENING HIGH TIDE.

* TIMING...WITHIN AN HOUR OR TWO OF THE HIGH TIDE AROUND MIDNIGHT
  OR BETWEEN 10 PM AND 2 AM.

* IMPACTS...SOME VULNERABLE SHORE ROADS WILL LIKELY BE
  FLOODED...PERHAPS UP TO A FOOT DEEP. SHORELINES EXPOSED TO THE
  OPEN OCEAN MAY EXPERIENCE CONSIDERABLE SPLASHOVER FROM LEFTOVER
  SWELLS. THERE WILL BE SOME CONTINUED BEACH EROSION...ESPECIALLY
  ALONG OUTER CAPE COD AND THE EAST SIDE OF NANTUCKET.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS ISSUED FOR MINOR COASTAL FLOODING OF THE MOST
VULNERABLE SHORE ROADS AND/OR BASEMENTS DUE TO THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM
TIDE OR WAVE SPLASHOVER. THE MAJORITY OF ROADS REMAIN PASSABLE WITH
ONLY ISOLATED CLOSURES. THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO LIFE AND
ANY IMPACT ON PROPERTY IS MINIMAL.

  BROCKTON... PLYMOUTH...MATTAPOISETT...CHATHAM...FALMOUTH...
  PROVINCETOWN... VINEYARD HAVEN AND NANTUCKET

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY WET SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL LIKELY
  RESULT IN TREE DAMAGE AND SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES. STRONG
  WINDS AND HEAVY SNOW WILL CREATE BLIZZARD/WHITE-OUT CONDITIONS
  AT TIMES.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 8 TO 12 INCHES ALONG WITH
  LOCALIZED HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO 14 INCHES POSSIBLE.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL FALL HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON.
  SNOW INTENSITY WILL BEGIN TO DIMINISH BY EARLY EVENING...BUT
  LOCALIZED BANDS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW MAY PERSIST INTO THE
  OVERNIGHT HOURS.

* IMPACTS...CONSIDERABLE FALLING AND/OR BLOWING AND DRIFTING
  SNOW. VISIBILITIES WILL BECOME POOR WITH WHITEOUT CONDITIONS
  AT TIMES. THOSE VENTURING OUTDOORS MAY BECOME LOST OR
  DISORIENTED... SO PERSONS IN THE WARNING AREA ARE ADVISED TO
  STAY INDOORS. HEAVY WET SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL RESULT IN
  TREE DAMAGE AND SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.
