CHESAPEAKE BAY...TIDAL POTOMAC RIVER...AND ADJACENT COUNTIES IN
CENTRAL MARYLAND AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA AS WELL AS THE DISTRICT OF
COLUMBIA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR MIDDLE AND LOWER
PORTIONS OF THE MARYLAND CHESAPEAKE BAY AND LOWER TIDAL POTOMAC
RIVER THROUGH 1 AM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT WEDNESDAY FOR HARFORD COUNTY.
COASTAL LOW PRESSURE MAY PRODUCE ACCUMULATING SNOW WEDNESDAY. THE
BEST CHANCE FOR SNOW ACCUMULATION WILL BE NEAR AND WEST OF
INTERSTATE 95. THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY IN THE EXACT STORM
TRACK...WHICH WILL DETERMINE HOW MUCH SNOW ACCUMULATION OCCURS.
ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD MONITOR FUTURE FORECASTS.

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE MARYLAND CHESAPEAKE
BAY FROM SANDY POINT TO SMITH POINT AND THE LOWER TIDAL POTOMAC
RIVER FROM COBB ISLAND TO SMITH POINT. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY WILL
LIKELY BE NEEDED FOR THE WATERS WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY
EVENING...AND A GALE WARNING MAY BE NEEDED FOR PORTIONS OF THE
WATERS WEDNESDAY. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED FOR
PORTIONS OF THE WATERS THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY AND AGAIN FOR
SATURDAY.

ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY
MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...POTENTIAL FOR FIVE INCHES OR MORE.

* TIMING...WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

* TEMPERATURES...UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S ABOVE 1000 FEET. LOWER TO
  MIDDLE 30S BELOW 1000 FEET.

* WINDS...BECOMING NORTHWEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 20
  MPH.

* IMPACTS...ROADS MAY BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY...INCLUDING
  INTERSTATES 81...70...83...66 AND 64. THIS MAY HAVE A
  SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON HOLIDAY TRAVEL PLANS FOR WEDNESDAY. HEAVY
  AMOUNTS OF WET SNOW MAY CAUSE DOWNED TREES THAT LEAD TO AN
  ENHANCED THREAT FOR POWER OUTAGES.
