COLUMBIA.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE WASHINGTON AND
BALTIMORE METROPOLITAN AREAS...INCLUDING LOWER SOUTHERN MARYLAND

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY CONTINUES UNTIL 10 AM TUESDAY.
ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE NEAR THE BAY
THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

A GALE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE LOWER TIDAL POTOMAC RIVER AND
THE MARYLAND CHESAPEAKE BAY TONIGHT. A GALE WARNING MAY BE
NEEDED FOR PORTIONS OF THE WATERS TUESDAY NIGHT.

TUESDAY...

* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW...LOCALLY HEAVY AT TIMES.

* ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 3 INCHES. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE
  IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF CENTRAL MARYLAND AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT...DIMINISHING IN INTENSITY
  TUESDAY MORNING. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE THIS EVENING.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE UPPER 20S TO LOW 30S.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 10 TO 15 MPH TODAY...BECOMING NORTH TONIGHT
  INTO TUESDAY WITH GUSTS AROUND 25 MPH.

* IMPACTS...UNDER THE HEAVIEST SNOW BANDS...ROADS WILL BE SNOW
  COVERED AND SLIPPERY WITH VISIBILITIES BEING REDUCED TO NEAR
  ONE-QUARTER MILE AT TIMES. THE COMBINATION OF SNOW COVERED
  ROADS AND LOW VISIBILITY WILL MAKE TRAVELING DANGEROUS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
