This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in
central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as the District of
Columbia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Gale Warning is in effect for the waters tonight.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for northern Virginia, central
Maryland and Washington DC starting at 4 AM late tonight. Winds
may gust to 50 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

A Gale Warning is in effect for the waters Sunday.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for northern Virginia, central
Maryland and Washington DC through 3 PM Sunday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are asked to report hazardous weather using standard
operating procedures.

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS
ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM
EST THIS EVENING.

* LOCATIONS...SHORELINE IN SOUTHERN BALTIMORE COUNTY AND THE
  CITY OF BALTIMORE.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE...AROUND 1.5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL.

* TIMING...AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDE AT FORT MCHENRY
  IS AT 6:49 PM...AND AT BOWLEY BAR AT 8:03 PM.

* IMPACTS...FLOODING IS EXPECTED AT THE END OF THAMES STREET IN
  BALTIMORE. WATER ALSO IS EXPECTED TO COVER THE PROMENADE AT THE
  DRAGON BOAT DOCK IN THE INNER HARBOR. MINOR FLOODING IS ALSO
  EXPECTED IN THE BOWLEY`S QUARTERS AREA, AND MINOR SHORELINE
  INUNDATION IS POSSIBLE ELSEWHERE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.

FORECAST TIDES ARE REFERENCED TO MEAN LOWER LOW WATER
(MLLW) AND MEAN HIGHER HIGH WATER (MHHW) UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED. TIME OF HIGH TOTAL TIDE IS
APPROXIMATE TO NEAREST HOUR. TOTAL TIDE COMBINES THE
NORMAL TIDE AND DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL. FLOOD IMPACT

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 3 PM EST SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has
issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 4 AM to 3 PM EST
Sunday.

* TIMING...An initial burst of strong winds may occur with the
  passage of a strong cold front late tonight. Winds may diminish
  and then increase again, peaking mid-late morning Sunday before
  diminishing for a final time Sunday afternoon.

* WINDS...West 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
  lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 45 to 55 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles.
