This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southwest Lower
Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

The rain will be changing to snow this morning as the
precipitation winds down. A few slick spots could develop on the
roadways as temperatures get close to or fall below freezing.

Water levels will be on the rise for most area rivers due to the
recent heavy rain.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

A few slick spots may exist on the roadways to start the day on
Wednesday.

Water levels will be high on area rivers this week with minor
impacts possible.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed.

  Red Cedar River Above Williamston affecting Ingham County
  Red Cedar River At East Lansing affecting Ingham County

...The flood advisory continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

  Grand River At Ionia affecting Ionia County
  Grand River At Lowell affecting Kent County
  Grand River Near Comstock Park affecting Kent County
  Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County
  Maple River At Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County
  Thornapple River Above Hastings affecting Barry County
  Pere Marquette River Near Scottville affecting Mason County

...The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a flood
advisory for the following rivers in Southwest Lower Michigan...

  Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County

.Between a half inch and one inch of rain fell across the area on
Monday. This combined with snowmelt and the potential for ice jams
will cause rising rivers that will likely climb out of their banks.
The following forecast is based on observed and forecast 48 hour
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull.  If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning.  Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

* At 11 AM Tuesday the river was 8.0 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 11.0 feet Thursday evening.
* Impact, at 10.0 feet...River is bankfull. Expect flooding of low
  lying areas adjacent to the banks.

  Abrigador Trail.
