TUESDAY...

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

 * MODERATE SNOW WILL FALL AT TIMES WITH SOME BLOWING AND
   DRIFTING SNOW POSSIBLE INTO TONIGHT.

 * SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO LOCALLY 5 INCHES OF SNOW WILL FALL
   FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH THE DAY ON TUESDAY.

 * WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH 1000 PM.

IMPACTS...

 * ROADS WILL BECOME AND REMAIN SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY THIS
   EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY.

 * THE COMMUTE TUESDAY MORNING IS EXPECTED TO BE IMPACTED.

 * VISIBILITIES WILL DROP DOWN TO BELOW A MILE AT TIMES IN SNOW
   AND BLOWING SNOW.

...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS ISSUED A FLOOD
ADVISORY FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN...

  MUSKEGON RIVER NEAR CROTON AFFECTING NEWAYGO COUNTY

.ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS THE AREA IN THE PAST 24
HOURS. THIS RAIN COMBINED WITH UP TO AN INCH OF ADDITIONAL WATER
FROM SNOWMELT WILL CAUSE A NUMBER OF RIVERS TO EXCEED THEIR BANKS.
ABOUT A QUARTER INCH MAY FALL THIS AFTERNOON IN PARTS OF THE AREA
BEFORE THE RAIN CHANGES TO SNOW. WATER WILL IMPACT LOW LYING AREAS
NEAR RIVER BANKS. THE FOLLOWING FORECAST IS BASED ON OBSERVED AND
FORECAST 24 HOUR PRECIPITATION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...CAUTION IS URGED WHEN WALKING NEAR RIVERBANKS.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE AND RIVERS ARE
FORECAST TO EXCEED BANKFULL.  IF YOU ARE IN THE ADVISORY AREA REMAIN
ALERT TO POSSIBLE FLOODING... OR THE POSSIBILITY OF THE ADVISORY
BEING UPGRADED TO A WARNING. REPORT OBSERVED FLOODING TO LOCAL
EMERGENCY SERVICES OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND REQUEST THEY PASS THIS
INFORMATION ON TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

MICHIGAN.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

MINOR FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS MAY OCCUR
DUE TO WIDESPREAD RAINFALL OF AN INCH OR MORE AND THE
MELTING OF THE RECENT SNOWPACK.

GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE
STRONGEST WINDS WILL OCCUR SOUTHEAST OF GRAND RAPIDS...TOWARDS
BATTLE CREEK...LANSING AND JACKSON. WIND GUSTS OF 45 TO 55 MPH WILL
BE LIKELY...WHICH WILL CAUSE SOME SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES AND
BROKEN TREE BRANCHES.

RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS
EVENING. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO ACCUMULATE...ESPECIALLY FURTHER
NORTHWEST TOWARD LUDINGTON...BALDWIN...AND PENTWATER THIS EVENING
AND THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED
AND SLIPPERY. SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE...MAINLY NEAR THE LAKESHORE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA ON TUESDAY
MORNING...BEFORE DIMINISHING TUESDAY AFTERNOON. ROADS WILL REMAIN
SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.
