NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

  Portage River Near Vicksburg affecting Kalamazoo County

.An area of showers and thunderstorms will cross the area tonight
with precipitation continueing into Thursday. This will produce
under an inch of rain. Locally heavy rain is possible. The extended
outlook is for dry weather Friday into Saturday night. The following
forecast is based on observed and forecast 24 hour precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message... Motorists should not attempt to drive around
barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

information.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Portage River Near Vicksburg.
* until Friday morning.
* at 10:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 5.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, the river will continue to fall below flood stage by
  tomorrow morning.
* Impact, at 5.0 feet...Expect overflows into wooded areas and
  farmland adjacent to the river
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 5.0 feet
  on Apr 20 2013.

MICHIGAN.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TODAY INTO THIS EVENING. SOME
OF THE STORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING MAY APPROACH SEVERE LIMITS.
THE GREATEST RISK FOR THAT WOULD BE LATE AFTERNOON AND SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 94. THE PRIMARY THREAT THERE WOULD BE DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS. ALSO EXPECT LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR
URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING FROM SOME OF THE STORMS THIS
AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THURSDAY WITH LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL BEING THE MAIN THREAT.

ANOTHER FRONTAL SYSTEM MAY BRING ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS TO THE
AREA SUNDAY INTO MONDAY.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR THIS AFTERNOON.
