...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ALERT FOR ALGER...DELTA...LUCE AND SCHOOLCRAFT
COUNTIES UNTIL 1245 AM EDT...

AT 1140 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
GRAND MARAIS TO STEUBEN TO NAHMA...OR ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 8
MILES SOUTHWEST OF GRAND MARAIS TO 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MUNISING TO
20 MILES NORTHEAST OF ESCANABA.  THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 40
MPH.

WINDS UP TO 30 MPH AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS ARE EXPECTED WITH THESE
STORMS.

* LOCATIONS IN OR NEAR THE PATH OF THESE STORMS INCLUDE...
  CHICAGO LAKE...
  GRAND MARAIS...
  NAWAKWA LAKE...
  COOKS...
  SNYDER LAKE...
  INDIAN LAKE STATE PARK...

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 0.5 TO 1.00 INCH ARE POSSIBLE FROM THESE
THUNDERSTORMS. THIS HEAVY RAIN MAY RESULT IN BRIEF RUNOFF PROBLEMS
AND PONDING OF WATER ON AREA ROADWAYS.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN UPPER
MICHIGAN AND CENTRAL UPPER MICHIGAN.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS ALL OF UPPER MICHIGAN TONIGHT.
SOME OF THE STORMS COULD BE SEVERE NEAR THE WISCONSIN BORDER AND
COULD CONTAIN SMALL HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE TONIGHT ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF UPPER
MICHIGAN...WEST OF A MARQUETTE TO MENOMINEE LINE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE SATURDAY. LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN IS ONCE
AGAIN POSSIBLE ACROSS THE AREA.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY AND AGAIN
ON THURSDAY. A FEW OF THE STORMS ON MONDAY COULD BECOME
STRONG...ESPECIALLY ACROSS CENTRAL UPPER MICHIGAN.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED TONIGHT. ANY REPORTS OF HEAVY
RAINFALL WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
