This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Winter Weather advisory is in effect for inland Lake county and
all of Cook county this evening for light snow and freezing
drizzle. The Ice Storm Warning has been cancelled. The threat for
a wintry mix will continue along and east of Highway 13 in
Northwest Wisconsin tonight and Thursday morning. Please read the
latest Winter Weather Messages for more information on this storm.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Another major storm system could affect the Northland Sunday and
Monday. This system has the potential to bring several inches of
snow, along with possible icing. While it is still too early to
forecast specific amounts, this storm system will need to be watched
closely. If you have travel plans over the weekend or early next
week, please monitor the latest forecasts throughout the week.

Snow spotters are requested to report precipitation type...and
measurements of snow or ice accumulations Tonight to the National
Weather Service. Spotters and the public can also report
precipitation type with the free M-PING smartphone app.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR A PORTION OF NORTHWEST
WISCONSIN TONIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING...
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES CANCELLED ACROSS MOST OF THE
NORTHLAND

.The strong low pressure system that brought the dangerous icing
conditions to the Northland overnight and this morning has moved
off to the northeast. There will still be some lingering light
snow and possibly freezing drizzle across the inland area of Lake
county and all of Cook county this evening. Also, areas along and
east of Highway 13 in Northwest Wisconsin will see light snow,
sleet, and freezing drizzle this evening through Thursday morning.

The rest of the Northland will only see light snow or flurries
overnight.  Motorists should be prepared for difficult travel
conditions to continue tonight as moisture on the roads will
freeze tonight as temperatures are below freezing.

...ICE STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for light snow and possible freezing drizzle
...which is in effect until midnight CDT tonight. The Ice Storm
Warning has been cancelled.

* LOCATIONS...The eastern half of the Minnesota Arrowhead,
  including the Grand Portage and Grand Marais areas.

* TIMING...Light snow this evening possibly mixed with freezing
  drizzle ending late this evening.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...less than a tenth of an inch.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...1 to 2 inches.

* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* IMPACTS...Ice and snow accumulations will create treacherous
  driving conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A winter weather advisory for mixed precipitation means a mixture
of freezing rain...snow and sleet is expected. Small
accumulations of snow and ice are expected on untreated roads and
sidewalks. Anyone with travel plans should be prepared for
slippery roads and reduced visibility. Slow down when driving and
allow for extra stopping distance because you may lose control of
your vehicle if you try to slow down or stop quickly.
