MINNESOTA...EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS...LOW HUMIDITY VALUES...AND VERY
WARM TEMPERATURES WILL LEAD TO CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
THIS AFTERNOON...HENCE A RED FLAG WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED ACROSS
CENTRAL MN.

IN ADDITION...A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE AHEAD OF AN
APPROACHING COLD FRONT LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS ARE IN THE FORECAST FROM
MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS
TIME.

URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...RED FLAG WARNING DUE TO A COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS AND LOW
HUMIDITY THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS CENTRAL MINNESOTA...

.A RED FLAG WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR CENTRAL MINNESOTA LATE
THIS MORNING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON DUE TO LOW HUMIDITY LEVELS AND
STRONG WINDS. THE WARNING IS IN EFFECT ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE
FROM MONTEVIDEO THROUGH MINNEAPOLIS. SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS AHEAD OF
AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 20 MPH WITH
GUSTS OF 25 MPH WILL DEVELOP BY THIS AFTERNOON. HUMIDITY LEVELS
ARE FORECAST TO DROP TO BETWEEN 20 AND 25 PERCENT AS TEMPERATURES
RISE INTO THE MID AND UPPER 80S. WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTH THIS
EVENING AS THE FRONT PASSES. A FEW SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS ARE
POSSIBLE AHEAD OF THE APPROACHING FRONT LATE THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH THE EVENING. COOLER TEMPERATURES AND HIGHER HUMIDITY
VALUES WILL FOLLOW THE PASSAGE OF THE FRONT.

* AFFECTED AREA...LOCATIONS ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM
  MONTEVIDEO TO MINNEAPOLIS.

* WIND...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 25 MPH.

* HUMIDITY...BETWEEN 20 TO 25 PERCENT THIS AFTERNOON.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 80S.

* IMPACTS...ANY FIRES THAT DEVELOP WILL LIKELY SPREAD RAPIDLY.
  OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW....OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF
STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES CAN
CONTRIBUTE TO EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.
