CENTRAL MISSOURI AS WELL AS WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS.

.DAY ONE...REST OF TONIGHT

THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY. A FEW STORMS MAY BE STRONG ENOUGH TO
PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS OR SMALL HAIL.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH 7 AM BECAUSE HEAVY
RAINFALL FROM THUNDERSTORMS MAY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OVER SOME
PARTS OF MISSOURI AND ILLINOIS. PLEASE REFER TO THE FLASH FLOOD
WATCH FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

THE CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
THE CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL THEN RETURN FOR LATE THURSDAY
NIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CALLAWAY COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI...
  MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI...
  NORTHEASTERN MONITEAU COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI...
  BOONE COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI...

* UNTIL 800 AM CDT

* AT 1202 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR
  INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ARE REMAINING
  ANCHORED ALONG THE INTERSTATE 70 CORRIDOR FROM WEST OF COLUMBIA
  TO NEAR MONTGOMERY CITY.  RAINFALL ESTIMATES FROM RADAR NOW
  INDICATE THAT OVER 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER PARTS OF THIS
  AREA...AND SEVERAL MORE ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN ARE EXPECTED THROUGH
  1 AM.  REMEMBER THAT RUNOFF FROM TONIGHTS EXCESSIVE RAIN WILL
  CONTINUE A FLASH FLOOD THREAT FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE RAIN
  COMES TO AN END.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO
  OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  ASHLAND...COLUMBIA...FULTON...MONTGOMERY CITY...AUXVASSE...
  BELLFLOWER...BIG SPRING...BUELL...EASLEY...JAMESTOWN...JONESBURG...
  MIDWAY...MINEOLA...MURRY...NEW BLOOMFIELD...NEW FLORENCE...
  ROCHEPORT...SHAMROCK AND WILLIAMSBURG.

  AN AUTOMATED GAGE ON HINKSON CREEK IN COLUMBIA INDICATES THAT THE
  CREEK HAS GONE UP OVER 11 FEET SINCE 7 PM...AND IS NOW NEAR ITS 15
  FOOT FLOOD STAGE.

THIS WARNING INCLUDES GRAHAM CAVE STATE PARK...JEWELL CEMETERY
HISTORIC SITE AND ROCK BRIDGE STATE PARK.

THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES...
INTERSTATE 70 IN MISSOURI FROM EXIT 115 TO EXIT 183.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. DO
NOT ENTER THE WATER. TURN AROUND AND MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO
ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN
WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* A PORTION OF CENTRAL MISSOURI...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  COUNTY...BOONE MO.

* UNTIL 7 AM CDT TUESDAY

* THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
  OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. LOCALIZED RAINFALLS OF 3-4 INCHES
  ARE POSSIBLE BY THE TIME THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL DIMINISHES.

* HEAVY RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN FLOODING OF LOW LYING OR POOR
  DRAINAGE AREAS...AND ULTIMATELY DANGEROUS FLASH FLOODING ON
  SMALLER CREEKS AND STREAMS. SIGNIFICANT RISES ON LARGER
  STREAMS AND RIVERS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT
IMMINENT IN THE WATCH AREA. PEOPLE IN THE WATCH AREA SHOULD BE
AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING.
CHECK YOUR PREPAREDNESS REQUIREMENTS...ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE IN
FLOOD PRONE AREAS. STAY INFORMED...AND BE READY FOR QUICK ACTION
IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IF A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS ISSUED.
