* THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED TO TRAIN
  OVER THE AREA TONIGHT. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN
  1.5 AND 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED...WITH LOCALIZED RAINFALLS OF 3
  TO 4 INCHES. AREAS ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE INTERSTATE 44
  CORRIDOR IN MISSOURI...AND ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE INTERSTATE
  70 CORRIDOR IN ILLINOIS ARE EXPECTED TO GET THE HEAVIEST
  AMOUNTS OF RAIN TONIGHT.

* HEAVY RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN FLOODING OF LOW LYING OR POOR
  DRAINAGE AREAS...AND ULTIMATELY DANGEROUS FLASH FLOODING ON
  SMALLER CREEKS AND STREAMS. SIGNIFICANT RISES ON LARGER
  STREAMS AND RIVERS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT
IMMINENT IN THE WATCH AREA. PEOPLE IN THE WATCH AREA SHOULD BE
AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING.

* AT 1050 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. DOPPLER
  RADAR ESTIMATED BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST HOUR
  OVER SAINT CHARLES COUNTY. THIS AREA OF HEAVY RAIN IS MOVING EAST
  INTO SAINT LOUIS COUNTY...NORTHERN JEFFERSON AND THE CITY OF SAINT
  LOUIS OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING TO
  OCCUR...ESPECIALLY ALONG SMALL STREAMS AND NEAR LOW WATER

FOR AREAS SOUTH OF A LINE FROM COLUMBIA MISSOURI TO LITCHFIELD
ILLINOIS...INCLUDING THE SAINT LOUIS METRO AREA. PLEASE REFER TO
THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH THAT IS IN EFFECT FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

THE CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
