THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF EAST ARKANSAS...
THE MISSOURI BOOTHEEL...NORTH MISSISSIPPI...AND WEST TENNESSEE.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS OF
THE MID SOUTH TO THE WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER BEGINNING THIS
EVENING AND CONTINUING THROUGH TONIGHT. THE PRIMARY THREATS WILL
BE DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH TONIGHT FOR THE ENTIRE
MID SOUTH. SEVERAL INCHES OF RAIN MAY FALL AND RESULT IN FLASH
FLOODING...ESPECIALLY TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

THE THREAT FOR A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ON TUESDAY
ACROSS AREAS EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THE PRIMARY THREATS
WILL BE STRONG WIND GUSTS AND SMALL HAIL WITH THE STRONGEST
STORMS.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH WILL CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY
AFTERNOON. THE THREAT FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND POSSIBLE FLOODING
WILL CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST THE MORNING HOURS.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT ACROSS
THE WESTERN HALF OF THE MID SOUTH. PLEASE RELAY ANY SEVERE WEATHER
OR FLOODING REPORTS TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN
MEMPHIS.

.AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE THROUGH THE MID SOUTH
TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
REDEVELOP AND MOVE ACROSS THE REGION AHEAD OF THIS DISTURBANCE.
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA WHICH MAY LEAD

* RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS
  POSSIBLE.

* HEAVY RAINFALL MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. HEAVY RAINS IN
  SHORT PERIODS OF TIME WILL RESULT IN QUICK RISES IN WATER
  LEVELS ALONG AREA CREEKS AND SMALL RIVERS. THIS WILL ALSO
  RESULT IN FLOODED ROADWAYS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS IN AREAS
  THAT RECEIVE FLASH FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
