URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GREAT FALLS MT
1139 AM MST SAT DEC 20 2014

A MOIST PACIFIC WEATHER SYSTEM WILL BRING HEAVY MOUNTAIN SNOW AND
MIXED PRECIPITATION AT LOWER ELEVATIONS SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH
EARLY MONDAY. TRAVEL OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES WILL BECOME DIFFICULT
ON SUNDAY WITH SNOW COVERED AND ICY ROADS. STRONG WINDS WILL IN
SOME AREAS WILL CAUSE REDUCED VISIBILITY AND ADDITIONAL
DIFFICULTY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.

5 AM MST MONDAY FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5500 FEET...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREAT FALLS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5500 FEET FOR SNOW AND BLOWING
SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 AM MST
MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING AND MAIN IMPACT: SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER SOUTHWEST
  MONTANA LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY. TRAVEL MAY
  BECOME DIFFICULT OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES WITH SNOW COVERED AND
  ICY ROADS.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE OVER
  MOUNTAIN PASSES...WITH UP TO 20 INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE OVER
  THE MOUNTAINS.

* ELEVATIONS: FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5500 FEET.

* LOCATIONS AFFECTED INCLUDE: BATTLE RIDGE PASS...BOZEMAN
  PASS...TARGHEE PASS...WEST YELLOWSTONE... BIG HOLE PASS...
  CHIEF JOSEPH PASS...MONIDA PASS... RAYNOLDS PASS.
