URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...Widespread snow to be found today...mainly across higher
elevation areas...

.A large upper level disturbance looks to continue higher
elevation snow through today...with accumulating snow levels
lowering to around 4500 feet for some areas...and a rain/snow mix
possible to most remaining areas. Snow will then diminishing in
coverage and intensity tonight.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT
TONIGHT FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5500 FEET...

* Locations: For portions of Southwest MT that are above 5500
  feet...including Bozeman Pass...Monida Pass...Raynolds
  Pass...Homestake Pass...West Yellowstone and Big Sky.

* Timing: Periods of snow are expected this morning above 5500
  feet...with a rain and snow mix below this level. Snow may then
  continue this afternoon above 5500 feet before tapering off
  tonight.

* Accumulations: Snow accumulation of 2 to 6 inches, with higher
  amounts up to 10 inches across the highest elevations.

* Winds: Northeast 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Visibilities: Visibilities will be reduced to less than one
  mile at times in falling and blowing snow.

* Snow Level: 5500 feet.

* Impacts: The snow could create snow covered roads and mountain
  passes...produce scattered power outages...and some minor tree
  damage. Those with outdoor plans should prepare for the return
  of winter conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
