.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

PLEASE LISTEN TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR GO TO WEATHER.GOV ON THE
INTERNET FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE FOLLOWING HAZARDS.

   WINTER STORM WARNING.

LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE ON SATURDAY...WITH
ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. GUSTY
NORTHWEST WINDS ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT WILL
OCCASIONALLY EXCEED 45 MPH...AND HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BRING DOWN
A FEW TREES AND CAUSE POWER OUTAGES...AS WELL AS CAUSE WIND CHILL
TEMPERATURES TO FALL INTO THE 20S.

ELEVATIONS OF FAR SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA...

.A DEEP LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CROSS INTO THE NORTH CAROLINA
MOUNTAINS LATE TONIGHT. UNSEASONABLY COLD AIR ASSOCIATED WITH THIS
SYSTEM WILL BRING THE SEASON`S FIRST SNOWFALL TO THE MOUNTAINS
OVERNIGHT INTO SATURDAY EVENING...WITH LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW ACROSS
THE HIGH COUNTRY OF NORTH CAROLINA AND FAR SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA
IN THE VICINITY OF MOUNT ROGERS AND BURKES GARDEN.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW FOR HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 6 INCHES...WITH
  LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ABOVE ELEVATIONS OF 3500 FEET.

* TIMING...THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW...PLUS STRONG WINDS... WILL DOWN
  SOME TREES AND CAUSE POWER OUTAGES. ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AT
  HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.
  HIGHEST GUSTS WILL OCCUR MAINLY ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND
  EVENING.
