...DANGEROUSLY HOT WEATHER CONTINUES TODAY...

.TEMPERATURES WILL PEAK IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S ACROSS CENTRAL
NORTH CAROLINA THIS AFTERNOON. THESE HOT TEMPERATURES COMBINED
WITH HIGH HUMIDITY WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDEX VALUES NEAR OR OVER
105 DEGREES. BEING IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT WILL MAKE IT FEEL EVEN
HOTTER.

* IMPACTS...THE ACCUMULATIVE EFFECTS OF THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY
  WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASED RISK OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES...
  ESPECIALLY AMONG VULNERABLE INDIVIDUALS SUCH AS THE SICK...
  THE ELDERLY... THOSE EXERTING THEMSELVES OUTDOORS... AND THOSE
  WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY
WILL CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE.
DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS... STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM... STAY
OUT OF THE SUN... AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.

THE COMBINATION OF THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL CREATE HEAT INDEX
VALUES BETWEEN 105 AND 109 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON. THOSE SPENDING
ANY LENGTH OF TIME OUTDOORS NEED TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT
HEAT ILLNESSES.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

HEAT ADVISORIES MAY BE NECESSARY THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AS THE HOT
TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY CONTINUE.
