MOUNTAINS TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY...

.A STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO CROSS
THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS EARLY SATURDAY. VERY COLD AIR WILL
ACCOMPANY THE SYSTEM...ALLOWING SNOW LEVELS TO DROP ACROSS THE
HIGH TERRAIN OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA STARTING THIS EVENING. AS
THE SYSTEM EXITS TO THE EAST DURING THE DAY ON SATURDAY... STRONG
NORTHWEST FLOW WILL CONTINUE...RESULTING IN NUMEROUS SNOW SHOWERS

* HAZARDS...ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL.

* TIMING...RAIN SHOWERS THIS EVENING WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW
  OVERNIGHT AS SNOW LEVELS DROP TO THE VALLEY FLOORS BY DAYBREAK
  SATURDAY. SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WILL LIKELY LINGER THROUGH THE
  DAY ON SATURDAY...BEFORE ENDING SATURDAY EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3 INCHES...WITH
  PERHAPS UP TO 5 INCHES ON SOME RIDGETOPS ABOVE 5000 FEET.

* IMPACTS...THE WET SNOW COMBINED WITH VERY WINDY CONDITIONS
  COULD PRODUCE ISOLATED TREE AND POWER LINE DAMAGE. ROAD
  SURFACES MAY SEE SLIGHTLY LESS SNOW ACCUMULATION...BUT BRIDGES
  AND OVERPASSES MAY BECOME SNOW COVERED AND ICY.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE UPPER 20S TO AROUND 30 TONIGHT...AND
  MAINLY MID 30S ON SATURDAY.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

VALLEY OF NORTH CAROLINA..AND THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS EARLY
SATURDAY MORNING...

.A VERY COLD AIR MASS WILL ACCOMPANY THE PASSAGE OF AN UPPER LOW
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS LATE TONIGHT AND SATURDAY
MORNING. THE LOW WILL BRING TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING THAT WILL
ALLOW FOR ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL ACROSS MUCH OF THE MOUNTAINS. THE
LOW TEMPERATURES WILL BE EQUALLY COLD ACROSS THE OTHER NORTH
CAROLINA MOUNTAIN COUNTIES NOT LISTED IN THE FREEZE WARNING EARLY
SATURDAY...BUT THE GROWING SEASON HAS ALREADY ENDED IN THOSE
LOCATIONS...SO THEY WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE NEW FREEZE WARNING.
TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO CLIMB THROUGH THE 30S ON SATURDAY
