SOUND-SIDE LOCATIONS OF THE OUTER BANKS AND DOWNEAST CARTERET
COUNTY AND HIGH SURF NORTH OF CAPE HATTERAS...

.STRONG NORTH WINDS AROUND 30 TO 35 KNOTS ACROSS THE PAMLICO
SOUND WILL CONTINUE TODAY. WATER LEVELS ALONG THE OUTER BANKS AND
DOWNEAST CARTERET COUNTY WILL RISE ABOVE NORMAL PRODUCING MINOR
SOUND SIDE FLOODING.

* COASTAL FLOODING...WATER LEVELS WILL RISE 2 TO 3 FEET ON THE
  OUTER BANKS AND 1 TO 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL FOR DOWNEAST CARTERET
  COUNTY.

* SURF HEIGHT...BREAKING SURF UP TO 9 FT.

* TIMING...THROUGH 8 PM THIS EVENING.

* IMPACTS...IMPACTS WILL BE MINOR...BUT SOME PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY
  12 FROM BUXTON TO OREGON INLET MAY BECOME PARTIALLY INUNDATED
  BY WATER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING STRONG SHORE BREAK...DANGEROUS RIP
CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION.
