THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH LATE
MONDAY NIGHT.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH.

* TIMING...STRONGEST WINDS WILL LIKELY OCCUR FROM MID MORNING
  MONDAY INTO MONDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES ARE LIKELY, WITH NUMEROUS
  POWER OUTAGES POSSIBLE. TRAVEL COULD BE DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY
  FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES, AND ON ELEVATED ROADS AND BRIDGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS
HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH, OR GUSTS OF
58 MPH OR HIGHER, MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST
FORECASTS.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

STRONG EASTERLY WINDS ARE LIKELY FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO
MONDAY NIGHT AS AN INTENSIFYING STORM MOVES UP THE COAST.

POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR LOCALLY MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING DURING THE
MONDAY EVENING HIGH TIDES. THE HIGHEST THREAT FOR COASTAL IMPACTS
WILL BE FOR FLOOD PRONE LOCALES ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE BAYS OF
LI/NYC...EASTERN BAYS OF LI...LOWER NY/NJ HARBOR INCLUDING TIDALLY
AFFECTED RIVERS...AND WESTERN LI SOUND.

HIGH SURF WILL BRING POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD DUNE EROSION AND
LOCALIZED WASHOVERS FOR THE ATLANTIC OCEAN BEACHES.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL LIKELY BE NEEDED.
