Flood Watch

Flood Watch
National Weather Service Buffalo NY
413 AM EST Tue Jan 23 2018

...ICE JAM FLOODING POSSIBLE ON AREA CREEKS THROUGH THIS EVENING...

Area creeks and rivers still have ice in place with some jams
having been reported. Rises in water level can and have break up
ice, which can then become jammed where there are constrictions
in the river or creek channel, such as curves or other
restrictions. Localized flooding will be possible in the vicinity
of any ice jams. People living in areas that are prone to ice jam
flooding should take the time in advance to prepare for the
potential for flooding.
