457 AM EST Wed Feb 22 2017

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central New York.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

The probability of widespread hazardous weather is low.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Another strong surge of warm air will arrive later this week,
peaking on Friday. In addition to the warmth, low pressure will
bring several periods of rain Friday through Saturday. The
combination of rain and rapid snowmelt may bring an increased flood
risk to the eastern Lake Ontario region this weekend. The potential
flooding would first impact smaller streams and poor drainage areas,
with water then moving into the Black River and producing an
increased risk of river flooding late this weekend and early next

A deep area of low pressure will move through the central Great
Lakes Friday night and Saturday, with a trailing cold front crossing
our region Saturday. Winds will become quite strong along and behind
the cold front, with wind gusts of over 50 mph possible northeast of
Lake Ontario.

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
