  Northeastern Essex County in northern New York...
  Grand Isle County in northwestern Vermont...
  Northwestern Chittenden County in northwestern Vermont...
  Northwestern Franklin County in northwestern Vermont...

* Until 645 PM EDT.

* At 544 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Day Point,
  moving northeast at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind
           damage to trees and powerlines.

  Plattsburgh International Airport, Plattsburgh, Peru, St. Albans
  City, Sheldon, Swanton, Grand Isle, St. Albans Town, South Alburgh,
  Alburgh Dunes State Park, North Hero, Swanton Village, Highgate
  Falls, South Hero, Highgate, Georgia, Isle La Motte, Alburgh,
  Fairfield, and Milton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

If on or near Lake Champlain, get away from the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now!  Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CLINTON...NORTHERN
ESSEX...SOUTHERN GRAND ISLE AND NORTHWESTERN CHITTENDEN COUNTIES
THROUGH 615 PM EDT...

At 532 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Peru, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Plattsburgh International Airport, Plattsburgh, Peru, Schuyler Falls,
South Hero, Grand Isle, Keeseville, Milton, Colchester, North Hero,
Young Island, Wilcox Point, Colligan Point, Hazen Point, East
Beekmantown, Stave Island, Mooney Bay, Sand Bar State Park,
Clintonville, and Conner Bay.

This includes Interstate 87 between mile markers 139 and 161.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered to numerous showers with embedded thunderstorms are
expected today into tonight. The highest chances for thunderstorms
will be this afternoon into this evening, especially between 2 pm
and 8 pm, with the most concentrated activity across the eastern
Adirondacks into northern and central Vermont. The primary threat
will be locally heavy rain, along with gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
