  ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY IN NORTHERN NEW YORK

* UNTIL 245 PM EDT WEDNESDAY

* AT 805 PM EDT RAIN HAS CHANGED TO SNOW. HOWEVER...WATER FROM
  PRIOR RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO RUN OFF...AND RIVERS ACROSS SAINT
  LAWRENCE COUNTY WILL CONTINUE TO FLOOD OVERNIGHT. SAINT LAWRENCE
  COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORT WIDESPREAD ROAD CLOSURES AND ONGOING FLOOD
  PROTECTION MEASURES. CITIZENS ALONG THE OSWEGATCHIE...GRASS...ST.
  REGIS...BRASHER AND RAQUETTE RIVERS SHOULD MONITOR RIVER
  CONDITIONS THROUGH THE NIGHT.

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* ALL OF NORTHERN NEW YORK AND VERMONT.

* THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING

* WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL HAS AFFECTED THE
  REGION TODAY. EXPECT STEADY RAIN TO CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF
  VERMONT THROUGH EARLY EVENING...AND RAIN TO CHANGE TO SNOW
  ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK. BY LATER THIS EVENING PRECIPITATION
  SHOULD BE IN THE FORM OF ALL SNOW BEFORE ENDING LATER TONIGHT.

* RIVER AND STREAM LEVELS REMAIN HIGH DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF
  RAINFALL...SNOWMELT AND RECENT WARM TEMPERATURES. NUMEROUS
  WATERWAYS ARE CURRENTLY NEAR OR IN FLOOD WITH ADDITIONAL RISES
  EXPECTED TONIGHT DUE TO RUNOFF FROM TODAY`S RAINFALL AND
  RESIDUAL SNOWMELT FROM THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP. NEVER TRAVEL
THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. TURN AROUND...DON`T DROWN.
