FLOOD ADVISORY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PITTSBURGH PA
557 AM EST TUE MAR 3 2015

...The flood advisory continues for the Ohio River...
  Ohio River At Pittsburgh affecting Allegheny County

.  A low pressure system will move eastward today spreading mixed
precipitation across our region. Over the Monongahela and Cheat
River basins, the heaviest precipitation is expected to fall
primarily as rain. Rainfall amounts anticipated at this time
across these river basins are expected to range from 1.00 to 1.75
inches.

These rainfall amounts are sufficient to cause significant rises
along the Monongahela River, resulting in large enough rises to
affect the Monongahela River Parking Wharf.

The river is forecast to rise to near 18.8 feet Thursday early
afternoon.

At 19.0 feet...Water begins to flow onto the North Shore Riverwalk
between the stadiums and put one foot of water on the Monongahela
River Parking Wharf.

* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to near 18.8 feet Thursday early

* Impact...At 19.0 feet...Water begins to flow onto the north shore
  riverwalk between the stadiums.

  Cheat River At Rowlesburg affecting Preston County

.  A low pressure system will move eastward today spreading widespread
mixed precipitation to our region. Across the Monongahela and Cheat
River basins, the precipitation is expected to fall primarily as rain.
Rainfall amounts anticipated at this time across these river basins
are expected to range from 1.00 to 1.75 inches.

SAFETY MESSAGE...a watch means that flooding is possible but not a
certainty. rainfall of 1.50 inches to 2.00 may cause flooding.
actual rainfall amounts and potential flooding will ultimately depend
on the direction and speed of the storm. PEOPLE IN THE WATCH AREA
SHOULD KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEATHER AND BE PREPARED FOR IMMEDIATE
ACTION SHOULD HEAVY RAINS AND FLOODING OCCUR OR A RIVER FLOOD WARNING
