.A VERY HOT AND AT TIMES HUMID AIRMASS WILL BE ACROSS OUR AREA
THIS WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK. HOWEVER...THE DEW POINTS ARE
EXPECTED TO BE LOWER ON SUNDAY COMPARED TO SATURDAY WHICH WILL
RESULT IN LOWER HEAT INDICES. THE HUMID CONDITIONS THEN INCREASE
EARLY NEXT WEEK.

* TEMPERATURES...HIGHS IN THE LOWER TO MID 90S THRU MONDAY
  AFTERNOON. IT WILL BE COOLER ALONG THE COASTAL AREAS.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...AROUND 100 DEGREES MONDAY AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS...THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.
  THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAT RELATED HEALTH ISSUES WILL BE HIGH...
  ESPECIALLY FOR THE ELDERLY AND FOR THOSE ALREADY IN POOR
  HEALTH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY
WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE
POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED
ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND
NEIGHBORS.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS...IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE... RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE.

YOUNG CHILDREN AND PETS SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN
VEHICLES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. DURING WARM OR HOT WEATHER CAR
INTERIORS CAN REACH LETHAL TEMPERATURES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK... THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE
