THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS
AND SOUTHERN RHODE ISLAND.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

PLEASE LISTEN TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR GO TO WEATHER.GOV ON THE
INTERNET FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE FOLLOWING HAZARDS.

   HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE
WEDNESDAY...HOWEVER THERE IS UNCERTAINTY AT THIS TIME RANGE. IF
STORMS MATERIALIZE...THE MAIN THREATS WILL BE DAMAGING STRAIGHT
LINE WIND GUSTS AND HAIL. IN ADDITION...HEAVY RAINFALL MAY RESULT
IN LOCALIZED FLOODING.

THERE IS A LOW RISK OF A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ON THURSDAY.

.LEFTOVER SOUTHERLY SWELLS FROM DEPARTING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM COMBINED HIGH
SEAS WILL CONTINUE TO YIELD STRONG RIP CURRENTS ACROSS SOUTH
FACING BEACHES OF RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST MASS INCLUDING THE
ISLANDS INTO EARLY THIS EVENING.

* SURF HEIGHT...4 TO 6 FEET.

* OTHER HAZARDS...A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS MEANS THERE IS THE RISK FOR
  DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS ALONG SOME AREA BEACHES. RIP CURRENTS CAN BECOME LIFE
  THREATENING IF NOT HEADED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RIP CURRENTS ARE POWERFUL CHANNELS OF WATER FLOWING AWAY FROM SHORE...WHICH
OCCUR MOST OFTEN AT LOW SPOTS OR BREAKS IN THE SANDBAR AND IN THE VICINITY OF
STRUCTURES SUCH AS JETTIES AND PIERS. HEED THE ADVICE OF LIFEGUARDS AND THE
BEACH PATROL. PAY ATTENTION TO FLAGS AND POSTED SIGNS. RIP CURRENTS CAN BECOME
LIFE THREATENING TO ANYONE WHO ENTERS THE SURF.
