This Hazardous weather outlook is for western South Dakota and
Northeastern Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A winter storm will continue to impact much of the region through
tonight. Winter storm warnings and advisories are in effect mainly
along and south of Interstate 90.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Snow will end across the region Friday morning. Gusty northerly
winds will lead to some blowing and drifting snow during the day
Friday, mainly across southern South Dakota.


Spotter activation will not be needed today.

Winter Storm Warning

.Bands of heavy snow are expected at times across southern South
Dakota this evening. Snowfall will begin to taper off from
northwest to southeast later tonight and early Friday. Some
blowing snow will be possible with gusty winds over parts of
southwestern and south central South Dakota. The latest road
conditions in both South Dakota and Wyoming are available by
calling 511.

Southern Foot Hills-Southern Black Hills-Custer Co Plains-
Fall River-Oglala Lakota-Bennett-Hermosa Foot Hills-
Southern Campbell-Weston-
Including the cities of Edgemont, Hot Springs, Custer, Folsom,
Ardmore, Oelrichs, Pine Ridge, Oglala, Kyle, Martin, Hermosa,
Wright, Newcastle, and Upton

* Snow will continue across the area tonight, diminishing early

* Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches are expected,
  with the highest amounts generally across far southern South
  Dakota and the Pine Ridge.

* Look for significant reductions in visibility at times.

* Icy and slippery spots will develop on the roads as
  temperatures cool this evening. Travel will be hazardous
  through Friday morning.


A winter storm warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected. If you must travel...keep an extra and water in your vehicle in case of an
