THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER WILL REACH THE VERY HIGH TO EXTREME
CATEGORY SUNDAY AFTERNOON...DUE TO GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS AVERAGING
25 TO 40 MPH. ELEVATED FIRE DANGER IS ALSO POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY AND
THURSDAY.

SUNDAY EVENING.

* AFFECTED AREA...FIRE WEATHER ZONE 300...NORTHERN LOESS HILLS AND
  FLOYD BASIN. FIRE WEATHER ZONE 301...IOWA GREAT LAKES AND ROCK
  AND SIOUX BASINS. FIRE WEATHER ZONE 249...EXTREME NORTHEAST
  NEBRASKA. FIRE WEATHER ZONE 256...MIDDLE JAMES VALLEY. FIRE
  WEATHER ZONE 257...MIDDLE BIG SIOUX VALLEY. FIRE WEATHER ZONE
  258...LOWER JAMES AND LOWER BIG SIOUX VALLEYS.

* WIND...NORTHWEST WINDS 25 TO 45 MPH. IN ADDITION...WINDS
  PRECEDING THE WATCH TONIGHT WILL BE FROM THE SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST
  AT 15 TO 30 MPH PROVIDING ADDITIONAL DRYING CONCERNS FOR SUNDAY.

* HUMIDITY...MINIMUM VALUES WILL BE 25 TO 35 PERCENT BY MID
  AFTERNOON SUNDAY. IF LIGHT RAIN FALLS LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY
  SUNDAY...THE RAINFALL AMOUNT WILL LIKELY NOT BE ENOUGH TO
  SUSTAIN FUEL MOISTURE IN DORMANT FUELS BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON GIVEN
  THE PROJECTED WIND SPEEDS.

* IMPACTS...ANY FIRES THAT DEVELOP WILL LIKELY SPREAD RAPIDLY.
  OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
