HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN
456 PM CST FRI MAR 6 2015

...AVERAGE FLOODING EXPECTED THIS SPRING IN THE MIDSOUTH...

THE MIDSOUTH SPRING FLOOD POTENTIAL IS AVERAGE AT THIS TIME. AT
LEAST MINOR FLOODING IS EXPECTED ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI AND
TENNESSEE RIVERS. MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING TRIBUTARY IS
OUTLOOKED. FLOOD IMPACTS WILL BE SIGNIFICANT.

ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER MANY ROADS, FIELDS AND PASTURES WILL
COVER UP. WATER WILL BACKUP THE OBION AND SOUTH FORKED DEER RIVERS
INTO THE LOWEST FIELDS. COLD CREEK WILL BACK INTO MANY FIELDS. THE
LOOSAHATCHIE COULD BE OVERBANK UP TOWARD RALEIGH-MILLINGTON
ROAD...WHILE THE WOLF RIVER MIGHT BE OVERBANK TO AUSTIN PEAY
HIGHWAY.

MINOR FLOODING OF THE TENNESSEE RIVER WOULD WOULD IMPACT ROADS AND
ENCROACH ONTO CABIN SITES.

MINOR TO MODERATE TRIBUTARY FLOODING OCCURS MOST YEARS IN THE
MIDSOUTH. MODERATE TRIBUTARY FLOODING COULD BE MORE FREQUENT THIS
SPRING DUE TO HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS. THERE SHOULD BE ADEQATE STORAGE
SPACE IN ARKABUTLA, SARDIS, AND ENID LAKES TO HOLD BACK RUNOFF
FROM HILLS EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA.

THIS OUTLOOK WILL BE UPDATED WHEN CONDITIONS WARRANT.
