Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across the extreme southern Panhandle mid to late this afternoon along a southward moving cold front. Additional thunderstorms may develop southward across the western South Plains along and east of the dryline. Thunderstorms are expected to become more numerous with time as they spread eastward across the extreme southern Panhandle and South Plains and, eventually, the Rolling Plains during the evening to overnight hours. Some thunderstorms could become severe with wind gusts to 70 mph and hail to the size of golf balls the main threats. Locally heavy rainfall and flooding will also be possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the area on Thursday, with a potential for severe weather focused on the central and southern Rolling Plains.
