Flood Watch

Flood Watch
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
407 AM CDT Sun May 5 2024

.A new round of heavy rainfall is moving into the area from the
northwest very early this morning, and will continue to make its way
across Southeast Texas today. An additional 1 to 3 inches of
rainfall is expected across broad areas, with isolated higher
amounts of 4 to 8 inches possible within the watch area. This may
lead to flash flooding, especially in vulnerable areas, and
exacerbate already swollen rivers and streams around the area.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
  crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding
  of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are
  running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
