* AFFECTED AREA...FIRE WEATHER ZONE 492 CENTRAL UTAH WEST
  DESERT...FIRE WEATHER ZONE 493 CENTRAL UTAH MOUNTAINS...FIRE
  WEATHER ZONE 495 COLOR COUNTRY WEST DESERT...FIRE WEATHER ZONE
  497 MOJAVE DESERT AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 498 GRAND STAIRCASE.

* THUNDERSTORMS...ISOLATED TO SCATTERED MAINLY DRY THUNDERSTORMS
  MOSTLY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS FRIDAY AND
  SATURDAY.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH
  WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STORMS.

* IMPACTS...THE THREAT OF LIGHTNING AND GUSTY WINDS IN ADDITION
  TO VERY DRY CONDITIONS WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL OF MULTIPLE
  NEW FIRES AND EXPLOSIVE FIRE GROWTH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF
STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES CAN
CONTRIBUTE TO EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE WESTERN TWO THIRDS OF
UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

HOT TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF THE OUTLOOK AREA
TODAY. TEMPERATURES WILL BECOME DANGEROUSLY HIGH IN AREAS OF
UTAHS DIXIE BELOW 4000 FEET THIS AFTERNOON. PEOPLE IN THOSE AREAS
SHOULD BE CAUTIOUS WHEN ENGAGING IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES LATER
TODAY...AS THE PERIOD OF EXCESSIVE HEAT WILL INCREASE THE
LIKELIHOOD OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

HOT WEATHER WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA THROUGH FRIDAY.
EXCESSIVELY HOT TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO CONTINUE ACROSS THE
LOWER ELEVATIONS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY INCLUDING ST GEORGE AND THE
CANYON BOTTOMS IN ZION NATIONAL PARK ON FRIDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL GROW IN COVERAGE FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND. THE
COMBINATION OF LIGHTNING AND GUSTY THUNDERSTORM WINDS HAS PROMPTED
RED FLAG WARNINGS AND FIRE WEATHER WATCHES FOR MUCH OF UTAH FRIDAY
AND SATURDAY.
