This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the western two thirds of
Utah and southwest Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Very hot temperatures will continue across the lower elevations
of the southern and southeastern portions of the outlook area
today. Triple digit readings will be common in these areas.

These hot temperatures can be dangerous for people engaging in
outdoor activities or for those who do not have adequate cooling
in their homes or businesses.

Flows in the waterways of northern Utah and southwest Wyoming
remain fast and cold, and are still deadly. A person or pet can
drown in less than a minute in these waters.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Very hot temperatures will continue across the lower elevations
of the southern and southeastern portions of the outlook area
through the upcoming weekend. Triple digit readings will be
common in these areas.

These hot temperatures can be dangerous for people engaging in
outdoor activities or for those who do not have adequate cooling
in their homes or businesses.

Remember...waterways of northern Utah and southwest Wyoming will
continue to be dangerous with cold and fast flows expected
through the outlook period.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* AFFECTED AREA...The lower elevations of the San Rafael Swell
  and South Central Utah, including Grand Staircase Escalante
  National Monument, Kanab, and Hanksville.

* TIMING...High temperatures will range between 100 and 105
  degrees this afternoon through early this evening.

* IMPACTS...Dehydration, hyperthermia, and heat cramps may impact
  those who do not take precautions. Prolonged exposure to these
  hot temperatures can result in heat exhaustion and/or heat
  stroke. Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the heat of
  the day.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time
outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting
clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency - call 911.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 494 Henry Mountains...Fire
  Weather Zone 496 Color Country Mountains and Fire Weather Zone
  498 Grand Staircase.

* WINDS...West Winds 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6-12 percent.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds and low humidities will combine to cause
  critical fire weather conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
