THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

A FAST MOVING CLIPPER TYPE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE AREA
LATE TODAY AND TONIGHT. RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA LATE TODAY
AND TONIGHT...AND THE RAIN WILL MIX WITH AND CHANGE TO SNOW TONIGHT
ESPECIALLY OVER HIGHER ELEVATION AREAS. SOME LIGHT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS MAINLY HIGHER ELEVATION AREAS
OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU...SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...AND THE EAST
TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...

SOME RAIN SHOWERS AND SNOW SHOWERS WILL LINGER INTO MONDAY BEHIND
THE DEPARTING SYSTEM...WITH ADDITIONAL LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
POSSIBLE OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATION AREAS OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA AND
THE EAST TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS.

A COLDER NORTHWEST FLOW WILL DEVELOP BEHIND THE DEPARTING FRONTAL
SYSTEM LATER MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT. THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A
CHANCE FOR SNOWFALL IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN WELL THROUGH TUESDAY
NIGHT AS THIS NORTHWEST FLOW IS FORCED OVER THE MOUNTAINS. HIGHER
TERRAIN AREAS COULD PICK UP AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO TWO INCHES OF SNOW
WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS IN THE HIGHEST PEAKS OF THE SMOKY
MOUNTAINS.

ALTHOUGH THE CHANCE FOR SNOW IS A LITTLE LOWER IN THE GREAT
VALLEY...MINOR ACCUMULATIONS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF A DUSTING TO
AROUND ONE INCH OF SNOW IS A POSSIBILITY FROM AROUND MORRISTOWN
NORTHEAST TO THE TRI-CITIES AREA AND MAYBE A LITTLE MORE IN THE
VALLEYS OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. THE PERIOD OF ACCUMULATION WOULD BE
MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

DIMINISH DURING THE AFTERNOON.
