CAROLINA...SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA AND SOUTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

UPSLOPE SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT AND BRING AN INCH OR
TWO OF SNOW TO THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. ISOLATED LOCATIONS AT ELEVATIONS
ABOVE 3500 FEET MAY RECEIVE UP TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW. UNTREATED ROADS
AND SURFACES WILL LIKELY BECOME SNOW COVERED...SLICK...AND HAZARDOUS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

A SURGE OF COLDER ARCTIC AIR INTO THE REGION WILL PROVIDE
PROGRESSIVELY COLDER TEMPERATURES AND UPSLOPE WESTERLY WINDS
OVERNIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. THIS IS RESULTING IN
INTERMITTENT SNOW SHOWERS THIS EVENING...AND THIS IS EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE OVERNIGHT AND INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS FRIDAY.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE MOST COMMON AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS AND ON
WEST FACING SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS. REPORTED SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
SO FAR THIS EVENING RANGE FROM TRACE AND DUSTING AMOUNTS ACROSS
BATH...SMYTH...AND GRAYSON COUNTIES IN
VIRGINIA...GREENBRIER...MONROE...SUMMERS...AND MERCER COUNTIES IN
WEST VIRGINIA...TO AROUND 1/2 INCH IN EASTERN TAZEWELL COUNTY
VIRGINIA...WHERE ROADS ARE BECOMING SNOW COVERED...TO MORE
WIDESPREAD 1 TO 2 INCH AMOUNTS ACROSS MUCH OF ASHE AND WATAUGA
COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA.

WITH COLDER AIR STEADILY MOVING INTO THE REGION
OVERNIGHT...UNTREATED ROADS AND SURFACES WILL LIKELY BECOME SNOW
COVERED...SLICK...AND HAZARDOUS.

AT THIS TIME...TOTAL NIGHTTIME SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO
REMAIN LESS THAN 2 INCHES...THUS AN ADVISORY DOES NOT APPEAR
WARRANTED AT THIS TIME. NONETHELESS...ADDITIONAL CAUTION SHOULD
BE EXERCISED IF TRAVELING TONIGHT OR EARLY FRIDAY MORNING IN THESE
AREAS.
