TO 8 AM EST MONDAY...

* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...AN INCH OR LESS OF SNOW ACCUMULATION FOLLOWED
  BY A THIN GLAZE OF ICE ACCUMULATION.

* TIMING...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW WILL
  CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN DURING THE EVENING...AND
  CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING BEFORE BECOMING ALL RAIN.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER 30S.

* WINDS...SOUTHEAST 5 TO 10 MPH.

* IMPACTS...UNTREATED ROADS WILL BECOME ICY...RESULTING IN
  HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE

NORTHERN AND CENTRAL VIRGINIA...AND CENTRAL AND WESTERN MARYLAND
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GARRETT COUNTY.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT
FOR WESTERN AND CENTRAL MARYLAND AS WELL AS PORTIONS OF THE
EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE...NORTHERN SHENANDOAH VALLEY AND
WESTERN LOUDOUN COUNTY.

A WINTRY MIX OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT. WARMER
AIR WILL MOVE IN AND GRADUALLY CHANGE THE MIXED PRECIPITATION OVER
TO RAIN OVER THE BALTIMORE AND WASHINGTON DC METRO AREAS. THERE
REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH REGARD TO HOW LONG THE COLD AIR WILL
REMAIN IN PLACE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY CONTINUES INTO MONDAY MORNING.
