.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

A WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT FOR
CENTRAL MARYLAND AS WELL AS THE NORTHERN AND WESTERN WASHINGTON
METROPOLITAN AREA. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT
THROUGH LATE TONIGHT FOR THE NORTHERN SHENANDOAH VALLEY AND
EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE...AND FOR THE HIGHLANDS OF THE
CENTRAL APPALACHIANS INTO LATE TONIGHT. SEE WBCWSWLWX FOR FURTHER

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE TUESDAY. PRECIPITATION
WILL CHANGE TO RAIN TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THERE IS
POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAIN THAT WOULD COMBINE WITH SNOWMELT TO CAUSE
A THREAT FOR LOCALIZED FLOODING.

  VIRGINIA PANHANDLE AND PORTIONS OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA...
  INCLUDING THE NORTHERN SHENANDOAH VALLEY.

* HAZARD TYPES...FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...ICE ACCUMULATION AROUND ONE-TENTH OF AN INCH.

* TIMING...PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER OFF LATE TONIGHT AS FREEZING
  DRIZZLE.

* IMPACTS...ROADS ICE COVERED THROUGH TONIGHT. TRAVELLING WILL
  BE DANGEROUS DURING THIS TIME.

* WINDS...SOUTH AROUND 5 TO 10 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 15 TO 20
  MPH ALONG THE RIDGES ABOVE 2000 FEET.

* TEMPERATURES...RISING INTO THE LOWER 30S THIS EVENING INTO
  TONIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN
WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS
