Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western
Maryland.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Flood Watch is in effect from 3pm this afternoon through late
tonight for portions of the Shenandoah Valley into central
Virginia. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible with
localized totals up to 4 inches.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Virginia, including the following areas,
  Albemarle, Augusta, Central Virginia Blue Ridge, Culpeper, Eastern
  Highland, Greene, Madison, Nelson, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge,
  Orange, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren and
  eastern West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern
  Pendleton and Hardy.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
  in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
  flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Repetitive rounds of slow moving showers and thunderstorms
    are expected this afternoon and evening. 3 to 6 hour flash
    flood guidance within the watch area sits at 1 to 3 inches.
    Rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches are possible with localized
    amounts up to 4 inches.

    and preparedness information.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
