This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in
central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as the District of
Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A heat advisory is in effect for much of the area from noon to 7
pm.

Isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail
are possible today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Heat indices of 105 degrees are possible Sunday.

Isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and hail are
possible Sunday.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has
issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to
7 PM.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 105 due to temperatures in the lower
  to mid 90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
  outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that the combination of high temperatures
and high humidity create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible.

Take precautions when outside. When possible, reschedule
strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs
and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight
and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of
water.

Never leave children or pets unattended in cars, even with the
windows open. Heat stroke is an emergency - call 911.
