...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CLINTON...
NORTHEASTERN ESSEX...WESTERN LAMOILLE...SOUTHERN GRAND ISLE...CENTRAL
CHITTENDEN AND SOUTH CENTRAL FRANKLIN COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 558 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Port Kent, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Essex Junction, South Burlington, Burlington International Airport,
Burlington, Peru, Schuyler Falls, Winooski, Westford, Colchester,
Essex Junction Village, Williston, Keeseville, Milton, Cambridge
Village, South Hero, Bolton, Port Kent, Richmond, Underhill, and
Jericho.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 87 between mile markers 136 and 149.
 Interstate 89 between mile markers 71 and 105.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near Lake Champlain, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon into
early evening. Some of these storms could be strong to locally
severe. Main threats are locally damaging wind gusts, small hail and
frequent lightning. Storms should dissipate overnight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Another day of unseasonably warm temperatures is expected on
Wednesday with highs reaching the mid 80s to near 90. While heat
index values are expected to stay below Heat Advisory criteria, there
may be increased heat risk impacts for sensitive groups and those
without access to cooling means.
