...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL ESSEX...
NORTHWESTERN ADDISON AND SOUTHWESTERN CHITTENDEN COUNTIES THROUGH 345
PM EDT...

At 240 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Keene Valley, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Vergennes, South Burlington, Essex, Willsboro, Westport,
Elizabethtown, Shelburne, Ferrisburg, Charlotte, Keene Valley,
Panton, Mt. Philo State Park, Kingsland Bay State Park, Ferrisburgh,
Waltham, Monkton, Addison, New Haven, Lewis, and Sloop Island.

This includes Interstate 87 between mile markers 101 and 126.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near Lake Champlain, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered to numerous showers with embedded thunderstorms are
expected today into tonight. The highest chances for thunderstorms
will be this afternoon into this evening, especially between 2 pm
and 8 pm, with the most concentrated activity across the eastern
Adirondacks into northern and central Vermont. The primary threat
will be locally heavy rain, along with gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
