FOLLOWING RIVERS IN WASHINGTON...
  SNOQUALMIE RIVER NEAR CARNATION AFFECTING KING COUNTY.

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ON THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER AS A
RESULT OF THE HEAVY RAIN THAT FELL OVER THE CENTRAL CASCADES
TODAY...ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL RAIN TONIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE CARS...VANS...OR TRUCKS THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. THIS IS
THE CAUSE OF MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS IN WASHINGTON. BE ALERT FOR
RAPID CHANGES AND MONITOR DEVELOPMENTS BY LISTENING TO NOAA WEATHER
RADIO OR OTHER LOCAL MEDIA.

  THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER NEAR THE FALLS
* UNTIL WEDNESDAY EVENING.
* AT  7:30 PM TUESDAY THE FLOW WAS 22300 CFS.
* FLOOD FLOW IS 20000 CFS.
* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE TO RISE AND CREST NEAR 26000 CFS
  AROUND 4 AM WEDNESDAY. THE RIVER WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD FLOW
  WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
* IMPACT...AT 20000 CFS...THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD
  FLOODING OF PASTURE LANDS AND ROADS ALONG THE RIVER FROM THE TOWN
  OF SNOQUALMIE DOWNSTREAM THROUGH FALL CITY. ROADS THAT MAY BECOME
  FLOODED INCLUDE FALL CITY-CARNATION...TOLT HILL...AND NOVELTY FLATS
  ROADS. THIS RIVER LEVEL ON THE SNOQUALMIE CORRESPONDS ROUGHLY TO A
  PHASE 3 FLOOD IN THE KING COUNTY FLOOD SYSTEM.

* AT  8:30 PM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 52.8 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 54.0 FEET.
* MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE AROUND 12 AM
  WEDNESDAY AND CREST NEAR 56.0 FEET AROUND 4 PM WEDNESDAY.
* IMPACT...AT 54.0 FEET...THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER WILL FLOOD MUCH OF THE
  FARM LAND AND SEVERAL ROADS FROM FALL CITY DOWNSTREAM THROUGH
  CARNATION AND DUVALL.

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* PORTIONS OF WESTERN WASHINGTON...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  COUNTIES...SKAGIT...WHATCOM...KING...LEWIS...PIERCE...
  SNOHOMISH....

* THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT

* RAIN WILL CONTINUE IN THE CASCADES THROUGH THURSDAY. ADDITIONAL
  RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IN THE CASCADES ARE LIKELY
  OVERNIGHT FROM ABOUT SNOHOMISH COUNTY NORTHWARD. HEAVY RAIN WILL
  RETURN TO THE OLYMPICS AND NORTHERN COUNTIES WEDNESDAY NIGHT
  THROUGH THURSDAY. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE 6500 TO 7500 FEET.

* SOME RIVERS ARE ALREADY FLOODING OR UNDER FLOODING. ADDITIONAL
  FLOODING IS POSSIBLE ON THE MOST FLOOD-PRONE RIVERS THAT FLOW
  OFF THE WEST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES. THAT INCLUDES THE
  SNOHOMISH...STILLAGUAMISH...SKAGIT...AND NOOKSACK RIVERS. OTHER
  RIVERS THAT ARE WORTH WATCHING INCLUDE THE WHITE AND GREEN
  RIVERS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


FLOOD WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF THE WATCH AREA. THE
FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLOODING IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT OCCURRING.
THIS APPLIES TO NEW AREAS OR LOCATIONS NOT ALREADY COVERED BY A
FLOOD WARNING. MONITOR THE WEATHER AND BE READY TO ACT QUICKLY IF
FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR MORE WARNINGS ARE ISSUED.
