FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN WASHINGTON...

  SNOQUALMIE RIVER NEAR THE FALLS AFFECTING KING COUNTY.
  SNOQUALMIE RIVER NEAR CARNATION AFFECTING KING COUNTY.
  NISQUALLY RIVER NEAR NATIONAL AFFECTING LEWIS AND PIERCE COUNTIES.

HEAVY RAIN FELL OVERNIGHT IN THE CASCADES AND WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES
TODAY. THIS WILL DRIVE THE SNOQUALMIE AND NISQUALLY RIVERS ABOVE
FLOOD STAGE BEGINNING TODAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE CARS...VANS...OR TRUCKS THROUGH FLOODED AREAS...THIS IS
THE CAUSE OF MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS IN WASHINGTON. BE ALERT FOR
RAPID CHANGES AND MONITOR DEVELOPMENTS BY LISTENING TO NOAA WEATHER

* FLOOD WARNING FOR
  THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER NEAR CARNATION
* FROM THIS EVENING TO THURSDAY MORNING.
* AT  8:30 AM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 49.0 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 54.0 FEET.
* MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE AROUND 8 PM
  TUESDAY AND CREST NEAR 56.5 FEET AROUND 10 AM WEDNESDAY. THE RIVER
  WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
* IMPACT...AT 56.0 FEET...THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD
  FLOODING FROM FALL CITY DOWNSTREAM THROUGH CARNATION AND DUVALL...
  INUNDATING MUCH OF THE FARM LAND AND NUMEROUS ROADS.

  THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER NEAR THE FALLS
* FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
* AT  7:30 AM TUESDAY THE FLOW WAS 13154 CFS.
* FLOOD FLOW IS 20000 CFS.
* MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL RISE ABOVE FLOOD FLOW AROUND 1 PM TUESDAY
  AND CREST NEAR 25909 CFS AROUND 10 PM TUESDAY. THE RIVER WILL FALL
  BELOW FLOOD FLOW WEDNESDAY MORNING.
* IMPACT...AT 20000 CFS...THE SNOQUALMIE RIVER WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD
  FLOODING OF PASTURE LANDS AND ROADS ALONG THE RIVER FROM THE TOWN
  OF SNOQUALMIE DOWNSTREAM THROUGH FALL CITY. ROADS THAT MAY BECOME
  FLOODED INCLUDE FALL CITY-CARNATION...TOLT HILL...AND NOVELTY FLATS
  ROADS. THIS RIVER LEVEL ON THE SNOQUALMIE CORRESPONDS ROUGHLY TO A
  PHASE 3 FLOOD IN THE KING COUNTY FLOOD SYSTEM.

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* PORTIONS OF WESTERN WASHINGTON...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  COUNTIES...SKAGIT...WHATCOM...KING...LEWIS...PIERCE...
  SNOHOMISH....

* THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT

* RAIN...HEAVY AT TIMES...WILL CONTINUE IN THE CASCADES TODAY
  THROUGH WEDNESDAY. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2.5 TO 5
  INCHES ARE LIKELY...WHILE THE SNOW LEVEL IS 6500 TO 7500 FEET.
  THE FOCUS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL BE OVER THE WASHINGTON CASCADES
  FROM AROUND SNOQUALMIE PASS SOUTHWARD THIS MORNING...SHIFT
  NORTHWARD THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...AND THEN DECREASE ON
  WEDNESDAY.

* FLOODING IS POSSIBLE ON THE MOST FLOOD-PRONE RIVERS THAT FLOW
  OFF THE WEST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES. THAT INCLUDES THE COWLITZ
  RIVER...THE REACH OF THE PUYALLUP NEAR ORTING...AND THE
  SNOQUALMIE...TOLT...SKYKOMISH...SNOHOMISH...STILLAGUAMISH...AND
  NOOKSACK RIVERS. OTHER RIVERS THAT ARE WORTH WATCHING INCLUDE
  THE SKAGIT AND WHITE RIVERS.

* ANOTHER VIGOROUS FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA
  WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY...BRINGING PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS
  OF 3 TO 5 INCHES TO THE OLYMPICS AND NORTH CASCADES. THE SNOW
  LEVEL FOR THAT EVENT WILL BE 5500 TO 7000 FEET.

* PEOPLE NEAR FLOOD-PRONE REACHES OF RIVERS IN THE WATCH AREA
  SHOULD PREPARE FOR POSSIBLE FLOODING DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
  STAY TUNED FOR THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION FROM THE NATIONAL
  WEATHER SERVICE.
