...HEAVY RAIN MAY CAUSE RIVER FLOODING...

.PERIODS OF RAIN... HEAVY AT TIMES... ARE EXPECTED WEDNESDAY AND
THURSDAY ACROSS MUCH OF MAINE AND THE EASTERN HALF OF NEW
HAMPSHIRE. TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WILL BE
WIDESPREAD WITH AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES POSSIBLE. WHILE THE
RAIN WILL NOT FALL AT EXTREME ENOUGH RATES TO CAUSE FLASH
FLOODING... THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF THIS MUCH RAIN OVER THE
MULTI-DAY PERIOD WILL BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME RIVERS TO RISE TO
NEAR FLOOD STAGE. HEAVY RAINS WILL END THURSDAY WITH LINGERING
SHOWERS INTO FRIDAY. ANY FLOODING WHICH DOES OCCUR MAY ALSO LINGER
BEYOND THURSDAY.

  CAUSE RIVERS AND STREAMS TO RISE. FLOODING ALONG STREAMS AND
  RIVERS IS POSSIBLE.

CURRENT FORECASTS.

A SLOW MOVING STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A PROLONGED PERIOD OF RAINY
WEATHER FROM LATE TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. RAIN MAY BE HEAVY AT
TIMES AND COULD LEAD TO RIVER FLOODING.
