...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...

PER COORDINATION WITH THE VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF FORESTS, PARKS AND
RECREATION, FINE DEAD FUELS SUCH AS LEAVES AND GRASS REMAIN VERY DRY
ACROSS MOST OF THE REGION, AND WITH LOWER THAN AVERAGE
PRECIPITATION OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS CONDITIONS REMAIN FAVORABLE
FOR THESE FUELS TO BURN QUICKLY SHOULD ANY FIRES START. LOW
AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY (20 TO 25%) ALONG WITH GUSTY WEST TO
SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS FROM 15 TO 25 MPH WILL EXACERBATE THESE
CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON. THUS ANY FIRES THAT DO START WILL HAVE
THE POTENTIAL TO SPREAD QUICKLY...BURN INTENSELY AND BECOME
DIFFICULT TO CONTAIN. PERSONS PLANNING OUTDOOR BURNING OF BRUSH OR
OTHER MATERIAL THIS AFTERNOON SHOULD DO SO WITH CAUTION.
