* UNTIL 245 PM EDT

* AT 1044 AM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN THAT WILL
  CAUSE FLOODING.  UP TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS
  A PORTION OF THE REGION.  AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS
  EXPECTED THROUGH MID AFTERNOON.  THIS WILL RESULT IN FLOODING OF

  MINOR FLOODING IN LOW LYING...POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AND IN AREAS
  ADJACENT TO SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS.

MINOR FLOODING IS LIKELY ALONG THE DEERFIELD RIVER IN THE VICINITY OF
WILMINGTON.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER ON COUNTRY ROADS AND
FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

ACROSS MUCH OF MAINE AND THE EASTERN HALF OF NEW HAMPSHIRE.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS EXPECTED TODAY. STORM
TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WILL BE WIDESPREAD WITH
AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES POSSIBLE. WHILE THE RAIN WILL NOT
FALL AT EXTREME ENOUGH RATES TO CAUSE FLASH FLOODING... THE
CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF THIS MUCH RAIN OVER THE MULTI-DAY PERIOD WILL
