507 AM EDT Thu Oct 31 2024

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Pennsylvania.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

An elevated risk for rapid spread of wildfires will develop
for the late morning and afternoon hours today as light wind
early this morning becomes southwesterly and increases to
10 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph.

Abundant sunshine and near record warmth for the last day
of October will also contribute to drying out fine fuels
and leaf litter, making them easy to burn.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Gusty west to northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph and low
humidity in the wake of a cold frontal passage Thursday
night will elevate the risk for rapid spread of wildfires.

Otherwise, the probability for widespread hazardous weather
is low.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
