...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM AKDT THIS EVENING FOR
LIGHTNING FOR YUKON FLATS AND SURROUNDING UPLANDS...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning...which is in effect until 11 PM AKDT this
evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...From Central to Circle and Chalkyitsik east.

* LIGHTNING ACTIVITY LEVEL...4.

* TIMING...Scattered thunderstorms are expected to move into the
  area from the western Yukon Territories over the next few hours
  and then continue over the area this evening.

* WINDS...West 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 25 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...61 to 74.

* IMPACTS...Ample lightning could lead to numerous new fire
  starts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will
occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous
fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to
the public.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Red Flag Warning.
