...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* LOCATIONS...OSWEGO COUNTY. MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW SHIFTING SOUTH
  AND TRANSITIONING INTO MULTIPLE BANDS OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW TODAY.
  THE BAND IS THEN EXPECTED TO LIFT BACK NORTH ACROSS THE COUNTY
  LATER THIS AFTERNOON.

* TIMING...THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...AN INCH OR LESS THROUGH 6 AM AND 2 TO 4 INCHES
  TODAY.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH.

* VISIBILITIES...AS LOW AS A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL RESULT IN VERY DIFFICULT
  OR NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TRAVEL AT TIMES IN THE HEAVIEST PORTION
  OF THE BAND. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL DURING THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW...
  EXPECT SEVERE WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS WITH VERY LOW
  VISIBILITY AND DEEP SNOW COVER ON ROADS. THIS INCLUDES
  INTERSTATE 81 THROUGH ALL OF OSWEGO COUNTY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IF YOU LOSE POWER AND PLAN ON RUNNING A GENERATOR...MAKE SURE
THAT THE GENERATOR IS LOCATED OUTDOORS AND IS PROPERLY
VENTILATED. SPACE HEATERS SHOULD ALSO BE PROPERLY VENTILATED AND
USED ONLY IF THEY ARE OPERATING PROPERLY. MAKE SURE SNOW DOES NOT
BLOCK EXHAUSTS AND FRESH AIR INTAKES FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY FURNACES
AND WATER HEATERS.

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* LOCATIONS...NORTHERN ONEIDA COUNTY.

* HAZARDS...HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...5 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW, ESPECIALLY NORTHWEST
  ONEIDA COUNTY. SNOWFALL RATES WILL BE AROUND AN INCH AN HOUR AT
  TIMES.

* TIMING...A LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND IS ACROSS NORTHERN ONEIDA
  COUNTY NOW. THE BAND WILL SHIFT SOUTH BETWEEN 6 AM AND NOON.

* WINDS...WEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL AND POSSIBLE WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF LAKE
EFFECT SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR
IMPOSSIBLE. LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES
IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP 1 TO SEVERAL
INCHES OF SNOW PER HOUR FOR SEVERAL HOURS. VISIBILITIES VARY
GREATLY AND CAN DROP TO ZERO WITHIN MINUTES.  TRAVEL IS STRONGLY
DISCOURAGED. COMMERCE COULD BE SEVERELY IMPACTED. IF YOU MUST
TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR
VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
