  WHITEFISH POINT MI BEYOND 5NM...

AT 1104 AM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING STRONG WINDS OVER 34 KNOTS AND
SMALL HAIL  FROM 35 NM NORTH OF CARIBOU ISLAND TO 25 NM EAST OF
STANNARD ROCK...MOVING EAST AT 40 KNOTS.

THE STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE NEAR...
NORTHWESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR FROM GRAND MARAIS MI TO WHITEFISH POINT MI
5NM OFF SHORE TO THE US/CANADIAN BORDER AROUND 1120 AM EDT.
EASTERN LAKE SUPERIOR EAST OF A LINE FROM MANITOU ISLAND TO MARQUETTE
MI AND WEST OF A LINE FROM GRAND MARAIS MI TO THE US/CANADIAN BORDER
BEYOND 5NM FROM SHORE AROUND 1120 AM EDT.
CENTRAL LAKE SUPERIOR FROM GRAND MARAIS MI TO WHITEFISH POINT MI 5NM
OFF SHORE TO THE US/CANADIAN BORDER AROUND 1150 AM EDT.
EASTERN LAKE SUPERIOR FROM GRAND MARAIS MI TO WHITEFISH POINT MI 5NM
OFF SHORE TO THE US/CANADIAN BORDER AROUND 1220 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MARINERS CAN EXPECT GUSTY WINDS UP TO 33 KNOTS...SMALL HAIL...LOCALLY
HIGHER WAVES...AND LIGHTNING STRIKES. BOATERS SHOULD CONSIDER
SEEKING SAFE HARBOR UNTIL THESE STORMS PASS.

INTENSE LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. IF CAUGHT ON THE OPEN
WATER STAY BELOW DECK IF POSSIBLE...KEEP AWAY FROM UNGROUNDED METAL

PATCHY DENSE FOG HAS DEVELOPED ALONG THE NEARSHORE WATERS OF LAKE
MICHIGAN THIS MORNING...MAINLY SOUTH OF STURGEON BAY. POCKETS OF DENSE
FOG IS EXPECTED TO LINGER ALONG THE NEARSHORE THROUGH THE MORNING
THROUGH OUT THIS AREA...BEFORE A COLD FRONT SWEEPS THROUGH EARLY
THIS AFTERNOON. BOATERS MAY ENCOUNTER HAZARDOUS VISIBILITIES LESS
THAN ONE MILE AND THOSE ON THE WATER SHOULD TRAVEL WITH CAUTION.
