The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Buffalo County in west central Wisconsin...
  Trempealeau County in west central Wisconsin...

* Until 230 PM CDT Thursday

* At 822 AM CDT, law enforcement reported numerous roads impacted by
  rising water or washouts, resulting in closures. Some homes in
  Blair and Galesville have 5 to 6 feet of water in their basements.
  Arcadia was also hard hit.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Winona, Arcadia, Wabasha, Whitehall, Alma, Buffalo, Trempealeau,
  Galesville, Blair, Independence, Buffalo City, Fountain City,
  Modena, Dodge, Ettrick, Waumandee, Cochrane and Nelson.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  morning. The river will fall below flood stage today.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Flooding occurs along the river in the
  Ontario area. Water may be over Highway P near Bridge 10, and also
  over Winchell Valley Road at Bridge 8.

* At 6:45 AM Thursday the stage was 14.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.5 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to crest near 23.1 feet Saturday
  evening.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet...Floodwaters touch the base of the river
  gauge house in Rock Springs. Floodwaters cover much of Highways DD,
  154 and 136 in Rock Springs.  Busser Park along Highway 136 and the
  baseball diamond in Fireman`s Park along Highway DD are covered
  with water up to 4 feet deep.  Floodwaters affect some businesses,
  including the Post Office, along Highway 154 in Rock Springs.

The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/sullivan has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  The Baraboo River Near Baraboo.
* At 5 AM Thursday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to crest near 21.6 feet Monday
  evening.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...Floodwaters affect a trailer rental
  business and a road wayside park about 5 miles downstream near the
  Highway 33 bridge. Floodwaters also affect an auto auction business
  near Highway I-94.
